You’re invited to enjoy exclusive activities, activations and more at Space Center Houston’s annual Planet Earth Celebration on April 21 and 22. Celebrate how special our planet is and what we can do to sustain, conserve, and preserve its vital natural resources. This event is included in general admission to Space Center Houston.

Featured activities

  • Discover the wildlife that call NASA’s Johnson Space Center home | This special edition tram tour highlights the center’s  repurposed and LEED buildings, rookery, coastal prairie grasslands, and the creatures that live on the land.
  • Give the chop to food waste | The Food Lab from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Learn about food waste and ways to grow your own garden at home – then take home your very own egg crate garden.
  • See the Earth from a sky-high perspective | Get guided through an exploration of Earth, the ISS, and the Moon as you experience The Overview Effect.
  • Enjoy the special presentation “My View of the Pale Blue Dot” | Destiny Theater at 2:15 p.m. | How can we preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known?
  • Build your own carbon capture unit | Learn about the importance of carbon capture systems on a spacecraft – then take home your own!
  • Recycle your e-waste | Do you have old computers, printers, tablets, phones, or other electronics that need to be recycled? Bring your retired electronics to have them recycled responsibly by TechnoCycle! * Restrictions apply
  • Connect with area organizations to discover new ways to conserve | Visit participating organizations and discover simple ways to make your life more sustainable.
