Off-Site Location | Two different parades in the City of Houston

Both parades begin at 10 a.m.

On Monday, January 20, Space Center Houston celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On this national holiday honoring Dr. King’s immense contributions to civil rights in the U.S., Space Center Houston participates in both MLK Day Parades taking place in the city. We invite everyone to attend as spectators and celebrate, commemorate and honor the life, legacy and impact of Dr. King.

Both parades are free to attend as spectators!

47th Annual Original MLK Day Parade

Presented by the Black Heritage Society in partnership with the City of Houston

Begins at 10 a.m.
The festivities will start at the corner of Smith and McKinney in front of Houston’s City Hall

Space Center Houston’s float will be distributing space-themed giveaways.

31st Annual MLK Grande Parade

Presented by the Black Heritage Society in partnership with the City of Houston

Begins at 10 a.m.
The festivities will start at the corner of San Jacinot and Elgin in Houston’s Midtown neighborhood

Space Center Houston’s contingent will be distributing space-themed giveaways.
