Photo Puzzle: Mars 2020 Clean Room

Members of NASA’s Mars 2020 project take a moment after attaching the remote sensing mast to the Mars 2020 rover. The image was taken on June 5, 2019, in the Spacecraft Assembly Facility’s High Bay 1 clean room at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

The Mars 2020 Perseverance rover will seek signs of ancient life and collect rock and soil samples for possible return to Earth. Its mission is expected to run at least one Mars year (about 687 Earth days).

Recently, NASA announced that the launch window for the Perseverance Rover, which will blast off atop United Launch Alliance’s (ULA) Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, has been extended from August 10 to August 15, with a planned date for July 30.
