Mark your calendars for a weekend of discovery and entertainment. General admission to Space Center Houston remains open during the festival, and we have a packed lineup of special events.

Experience the Innovation Tent

The Innovation Tent, presented by US Space Force is a hub for breakthroughs in space technology. Guests can explore the latest advancements alongside our industry partners, including:

• Robotics and R2D2: Check out the cleaning robots and demonstrations from Avidbots and meet an R2D2 unit at the Electronic Parts Outlet booth.
• Rovers and Models: See the 1-to-1 Viper Rover, the Jaxa Pressurized Rover, and the LTV Rover from Intuitive Machines. You can also view a 1/20th scale model of the Axiom Space Station and an authentic space suit from Axiom Space.
• Virtual Exploration: Explore the ISS through virtual reality with VRCORE Education or see the scale mockup from ISS Mimic that syncs with the actual station.
• Education and Fun: Visit the planetarium for shows hosted by our education department, explore with Lunar Outpost’s Lego play, or stop by Wellby Financial Lounge for financial education resources.

New Hands-On Learning

We are also proud to host a series of interactive educational activities to help our guests explore the world of space science:

• Air Canister Rockets: Build it, launch it, and watch science fly. Guests will design a paper rocket and use compressed air to see how Newton’s Third Law of Motion powers real rockets off the launchpad.
• Ultimate End Effector Challenge: Can you complete the mission? Students will take control of a model robotic arm to move objects with precision—just like engineers do when handling equipment in space and on planetary surfaces
• Mission Patch Design Station: Every mission tells a story. Students will explore the symbols, colors, and icons used in real space mission patches and design their own to represent a unique mission goal.
• Send Your Name Around the Moon: Be part of a lunar mission. Participants can create a virtual commemorative ticket and send their name on a digital journey around the Moon, connecting them to current lunar exploration.
• Moon Rock Exploration Dig: Dig like a lunar scientist. Using brushes and sieves, guests can excavate “moon rocks” to uncover hidden artifacts while learning how scientists study lunar geology and samples collected from the Moon.
• Space-Theme Loteria: Join us for rounds of space-themed Loteria, a fun twist on the classic game that is perfect for the whole family.

• 🎨 Paint Your Own Moon Rock: Use special “carbon capture” paint to create your very own Moon rock.

• 🚁 Mars Helicopter Workshop: Build and flight-test your own paper Ingenuity, a helicopter designed to fly around Mars.
• 🏅 Member Mission Patch Sticker Contest: Create your own membership mission sticker for a chance to have it selected in the member sticker design contest.
• 🎈 Space-Themed Fun: Enjoy our air brush artist and balloon artists on-site to add extra flair to your day.
