About the Panel

Panelists from this spooky discussion include Kaitlyn Soares, public outreach lead, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory; Joby Harris, visual strategist, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory; Dr. Judy Racusin, astrophysicist, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center; and Dr. Elisa Quintana, astrophysicist, NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

Dr. Judy Racusin

Dr. Judy Racusin is an astrophysicist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. She works on current and future NASA gamma-ray missions including as the deputy project scientist for the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and as the deputy principal investigator and ground systems lead for the BurstCube CubeSat mission scheduled to launch in 2023.  

Dr. Elisa Quintana

Dr. Elisa Quintana is an astrophysicist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. She has worked on a variety of space missions, including Kepler, K2, TESS and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. Dr. Quintana is currently the principal investigator of the Pandora SmallSat mission, which seeks to characterize the atmospheres of planets orbiting distant stars.  

Joby Harris

Joby Harris is a visual strategist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion laboratory where he supports scientists, engineers and their missions with artwork and design. He was an illustrator for many of the Exoplanet Travel Bureau and Visions of the Future intergalactic travel poster series and is currently an art director for the upcoming Mars Sample Return mission. 

Kaitlyn Soares

Kaitlyn Soares is the public outreach lead for astrophysics at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She presents data through a creative lens, making complex scientific information accessible to wide audiences. Soares is passionate about exploring how the convergence of art and science can serve the public.
