Parent workshop

Did you know between 1969 and 1972 six Apollo missions brought back 382 kilograms (842 pounds) of lunar rocks, core samples, pebbles, sand and dust from the lunar surface to study? Research of rock and soil samples from the Moon continues to yield useful information about the early history of the Moon, the Earth and the inner solar system. Investigate the geology of the Moon in comparison to Earth and Mars in our Apollo-themed workshop for home-school parents and educators. This workshop is included in admission on a first-come, first-served basis.

Home School Day plus Stars & STEM,

You and your family will navigate your own space exploration journey while engaging in science, technology and engineering related activities. Build model rockets, explore robotics and train for spaceflight in our newly redesigned Home School Stars & STEM event.

Activities cover an array of difficulty levels to excite visitors of all ages. Explore robotics in our Robotics Challenge Arena where you can lead a robot through an obstacle course, program and operate a robot and more.

Build your own rocket and then see how high you can launch it. Train like an astronaut and learn about spacewalks and crew assembly.
