Educator Appreciation Month

Inspiring the next generation is hard work. Educators, take a break this spring and experience the wonders of space exploration for yourself. As part of Educator Appreciation Month in March at Space Center Houston, education personnel get in free.

It’s our education foundation’s way to salute those who are teaching the country’s future leaders.

Through March 31, actively employed educators at public and private secondary and primary schools, universities and colleges will receive free admission by showing a current, valid school ID at any of the Space Center Houston ticket windows. The free offer applies to all educational personnel, including cafeteria, janitorial, transportation and other support. Home school teachers are eligible by showing proof of their status as an accredited educational personnel.

Take a break from shaping the next generation of explorers to experience the wonders of space exploration.

Friends and family of the educators can save $5 off regular admission in advance by purchasing tickets online using a discount code available to our social media followers and readers of our electronic communications. Connect with us to receive special communications about programs, exhibits and more before the general public. The digital discount code for educators’ friends and family will be sent upon enrolling.

Experience the thrill of space exploration education during Space Center Houston Spring Break’s Days of Innovation March 10-18. Discover flown spacecraft from the first and last crewed lunar landings, see and touch actual moon and Mars rocks, have Lunch with an Astronaut every day but Sundays during spring break and Fridays and Saturdays all other weeks. Explore space science through hands-on learning — with more than 400 things to experience, Space Center Houston has something for everyone.

Don’t miss your last opportunity to immerse yourself in the world premiere of “Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission.” This blockbuster exhibit brings the Apollo 11 command module from the first lunar mission outside the Smithsonian for the first time since 1971. The Apollo 17 command module and other artifacts from the last mission to land astronauts on the moon are part of Space Center Houston’s permanent collection.

Before the school year ends, teachers can bring their students on a field trip to Space Center Houston at discounted rates. We welcome classes throughout the year.

Take a break, relax this spring and visit us for free at Space Center Houston. It’s our way of saying thanks.
