Home School Day

Discover space science through innovative, exclusive activities and special guest speakers at the spring Home School Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Space Center Houston.

This incredible event provides the opportunity for home-schooled families to learn about space exploration and engage in an unforgettable day of education and inspiring entertainment.

The center offers the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see modules from both the first and last lunar landings under one roof for the first time. Students will experience the world premiere of our newest exhibit, Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission. This is the first time the Apollo 11 command module and artifacts from the first lunar landing have left the Smithsonian since 1971. The Apollo 17 command module from the last lunar landing is in the museum’s permanent collection.

Meet retired NASA astronaut Jerry Ross and hear from experts on a variety of topics. Get hands on in our interactive Pop-Up Science Labs and see live demonstrations, participate in robotics challenges, conduct experiments and so much more!

Day-of-event price $14.95

*Note: Parking at Space Center Houston is $5. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the toll plaza.
