The Eco Innovation Challenge, presented by Chevron, empowers middle and high school students across the Greater Houston area to develop innovative, human-centered solutions that address real environmental challenges. Students explored two core pillars, Environmental Engineering and Sustainability, designing solutions connected to issues such as urban heat reduction, carbon capture, sustainable agriculture, waste reduction, water conservation, and environmental protection.
This year’s challenge engaged over 200 students from across the region, highlighting their creativity, research, and problem-solving skills. Through their projects, students demonstrated how young people can use STEM to imagine practical solutions that could strengthen communities, support environmental resilience, and inspire a more sustainable future.
Congratulations to all Eco Innovation Challenge participants and to this year’s award winners.
