Space Center Houston is celebrating the historical and cultural contributions of Hispanic innovators to the U.S. spaceflight program with a month-long speaker series! Hear from these innovative aerospace-industry professionals as their work charts the future of human spaceflight. These presentations are included with general admission.

Samantha Sequeira
2022 Astronaut Scholar at Florida Institute of Technology
Samantha Sequeira is a quality engineer at L3Harris working on the F-35 Lightning. She is currently completing her second master’s degree in mechanical engineering defends her thesis: Quantitative Hemodynamic Analysis on Coronary Artery Vasculopathy in Post-Transplant Pediatric Cases, which focuses on the fluid mechanics within a failing heart, in April. Her previous research includes studying how hemodynamics change in zero gravity and how the stresses of space affect the human body. In 2024, she completed her master’s degree in biomedical engineering, with a focus in cardiovascular engineering, and in 2023, she completed her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering with a minor in nanotechnology. She is also an Army ROTC cadet, scheduled to attend Advanced Camp in beautiful Fort Knox, Kentucky, this summer. In the past, she was an NCAA cheerleader and dancer, and a former gymnast.
