Held at Space Center Houston, the Official Visitor Center for NASA Johnson Space Center, the conference features immersive sessions with experts from NASA and other space industry companies, hands-on experiences inspired by space exploration and astronaut training, events to build connections with other educators, and a universe of possibilities for your classroom!
Educators of all disciplines from formal and informal education are invited to experience a three-day authentic STEM-based learning experience.
Over three dynamic days, educators from across disciplines will come together at Space Center Houston to grow, connect and bring fresh inspiration back to their classrooms.

Next year, we celebrate 33 years of the Space Exploration Educators Conference, and we can’t wait to welcome you back! Mark your calendars now, SEEC 2027 will run Feb. 4-6, 2027. This year’s conference theme is Mission Ready: Where Space Exploration Meets Inspiration. Prepare to bring new, innovative STEM techniques that elevate your teaching and ignite your student’s curiosity! Read on to join us and submit your 2027 proposal.
New for 2027
All presenters are limited to a maximum of 2 presentations as either the main presenter or co-presenter. You may submit your name on more than 2 presentations as an additional presenter, but we will prioritize accommodating schedules according to the listed main and co-presenter.
Space Center Houston will provide the following supplies (all other materials MUST be provided by presenters):
We look forward to reviewing your proposals and building another unforgettable SEEC experience!
SEEC 2027 is inviting presentations which are innovative, content driven, tied to space exploration, interactive, engaging, and include at least half of the session to have some hands-on components. Sessions should incorporate STEM concepts that can be implemented in an educational setting. STEM-based sessions with art integration are also welcome. Please Note: Space Center Houston will provide limited session materials. We highly encourage sessions for high school educators, those integrating math, and sessions tied to current NASA missions. Based on feedback from SEEC 2026, sessions related to space habitats, AI, energy production in space, and cross-curricular space studies (liberal arts, history, humanities) will be given additional consideration.
Over the years, many SEEC participants have made contacts throughout the space exploration field. We encourage educators to team up with aerospace professionals and consider co-presenting sessions. These cooperative presentations provide authentic learning experiences for all participants. Presenters who represent organizations may not promote the sale of their products.
Sessions are primarily 90-minutes with a limited number of 60-minute and 180-minute sessions.
The conference will be presented as a hybrid event. Some sessions will be presented onsite only, and some will be a combination of virtual and onsite. Due to the diversity of the SEEC viewers and participants, all presenters are required to follow the Accessible and Inclusive Presentations Guide. If you have presented the same session at SEEC for more than two years in a row, we ask that you please submit a new session for this conference. Sessions which have been presented for multiple years will not be accepted. The proposal deadline for submission is Sept. 10, 2026.
Presenters will need to pay the full registration price, travel cost, and other costs associated with their session.
Presenters are eligible for registration scholarships but must fill out a scholarship application.
For your convenience, presentation supplies and materials can be mailed directly to Space Center Houston using the address 1601 E NASA Parkway, Houston, TX, 77058. Please include the following information on the shipping label in addition to the Space Center Houston address:

Melissa Pore was honored with the distinguished Cherri Brinley Outstanding Educator Award at the 32nd annual Space Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC).
Every year Space Center Houston honors an exceptional teacher with the prestigious Cherri Brinley Outstanding Educator Award for their significant achievements in space science education.
The award is named after Cherri Brinley, a fourteen year SEEC veteran, who shared her passion for space science and inspired a multitude of educators and students around the nation. She was an outstanding educator who touched the lives of everyone that knew her. She had an infectious spirit that drove everyone around her to do their personal best and to strive for greatness.
Always looking for ways to inspire her students and fellow teachers, she led many groups of her students affectionately known as the “nerd herd” allowing them to become the teachers and lead others during sessions. Ms. Brinley attended SEEC and many other Space Center Houston Educational events for many years. During her illness she always maintained the same positive outlook and spirit that made her such an inspiration to us all.
The Cherri Brinley Outstanding Educator Award was created to honor her and allow other teachers who have the same drive and inherent spirit which always kept Brinley reaching for the Moon and beyond.
If you know an outstanding educator that will be in attendance at SEEC, nominate them for the Cherri Brinely Outstanding Educator Award. This award is open to all teachers, administrators, school board members, and informal educators. Nominations must be received by Jan. 17, 2022. Late nominations will not be considered. The award recipient will be announced at the conference virtual banquet on Friday. Recipient must be present at the event.
Space Center Houston is excited to extend the outreach of the Space Exploration Educator Conference by adding a teacher leadership component called the Space Exploration Educator Crew program. Thirty‐six K‐12 teachers nationwide were accepted into this exceptional program and will collaborate in six regional crews to develop teacher leadership skills and STEM-based learning experiences. The application for SEEC Crew opens in the fall of each year.
