As a volunteer, you’ll have a positive impact not only on Space Center Houston, but also on the local and global communities we serve. Volunteer in our education programs inspiring the astronauts and engineers of tomorrow, help our staff welcoming guests from around the globe, or play a vital role in both daytime and evening special events.
Learn about the space program and share your knowledge with our guests as they explore our attractions. Volunteer in amazing areas such as Starship Gallery and Astronaut Gallery where hundreds of unique space and science artifacts are housed and Independence Plaza where the high-fidelity space shuttle replica is mounted on top of the historic shuttle carrier aircraft NASA 905.

Volunteers in our summer teen volunteer program are focused on supporting our Operations and Education programs. They may serve in one of two different areas:
Guest Experience Team – These volunteers engage guests in the museum with short presentations at exhibits, assist with public programs, and other guest service roles.
Explorer Camps – Teens serve as classroom assistants in camps for children 4-11 years old. They prepare materials, assist with classroom activities, and escort campers throughout the museum.
Summer teen volunteers that meet their commitment will be able to volunteer throughout the fall semester at weekend and evening events.
We are no longer accepting applications for the 2024 Summer Teen Volunteer Program. We will begin accepting applications for our 2024 Fall Teen Volunteer Program in August. Please check this page for more information at that time.
