Top 7 tips for planning a perfect Galaxy Lights adventure

Start a holiday tradition with our all-new experience Galaxy Lights, presented by Reliant. For the first time, Space Center Houston is opening its doors the evenings of Nov. 16 – Jan. 5 to transform the center into a twinkling winter wonderland.

Don’t miss our top tips to plan the perfect holiday adventure below.

1. Prepay

Skip the lines and get to your holiday mission faster by pre purchasing your tickets and parking voucher on our website. Space Center Houston offers ample convenient, onsite parking. Tickets are $19.95 for the public and $15.95 for members. Ages three and younger get free admission. Parking is $5.

2. Admission stops at 9 p.m.

Space Center Houston is open 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. during Galaxy Lights, but tickets are only available for purchase until 9 p.m. each day to help ensure guests have plenty of time to enjoy the experience.

3. Follow the path

We have tailored an experience for Galaxy Lights that allows guests to conveniently explore all installations and attractions. Check out the map below to see the recommended path. When touring Rocket Park, we ask that guests please stay on the path.

4. Parts of the Galaxy Lights experience are outdoors

Several parts of this immersive experience are so massive they have to be outdoors. Discover giant planets, stars, holiday decor and more alongside historic rockets at Rocket Park and our shuttle carrier aircraft NASA 905 in Independence Plaza. Please monitor weather conditions and plan accordingly. If a space coast cold front sneaks up on you, stop by one of our gift shops or the mobile gift shop in Rocket Park to pick up an extra layer, hat or scarf.

5. Special holiday food and beverages

Warm up on your adventure with holiday treats like hot chocolate in Rocket Park and s’mores in Independence Plaza or grab a bite to eat in our Zero-G Diner. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase in Independence Plaza and Zero-G Diner for guests ages 21 and older.

6. Selfie spots

Share your holiday adventure by snapping a stellar selfie in one of our free selfie spots in Independence Plaza. Take a photo on our sparkling Moon chair or complete the word “EARTH” by making yourself the “T” in our photo station. Use the hashtag #GalaxyLights to join the conversation!

7. Reliant Wednesday’s

Donate a toy on Reliant Wednesday’s through Dec. 18 and receive $5 off Galaxy Lights admission tickets. Bring your toy to the collection area at the entrance of Space Center Houston and receive a coupon to redeem at any Space Center Houston ticket booth. Valid only on Nov. 20, 27, Dec. 4, 11, and 18.
