There’s always something new to see and do at Space Center Houston, including new programs and exclusive hours each month so you can explore the center before it opens to the public. I’m considering membership

Anyone can be a member. Membership is not restricted to heads of household or people in the same household. We only ask that the primary member of the membership be 18 or older.
At all levels, annual membership includes one year of free admission to Space Center Houston as well as:
  • Free parking
  • Members-only previews of special exhibits
  • Express entry at the door
  • Priority boarding for NASA Tram Tour and Independence Plaza
  • 10 percent discounts on dining, shopping and photographs in the center

If you have visited within the past two weeks, provide a copy of both your admission ticket and receipt to convert it to a membership. Bring your receipt in person to the Guest Services Desk, or contact the Membership Office at membership@spacecenter.org or +1 281-244-2105.
It is not required that you specify a second cardholder name at the Dual level and above. However, at least one named cardholder on record with Space Center Houston needs to be present to take advantage of free Space Center Houston admission.
Yes, Discovery Circle members (the $300 Supporter level and higher) can request an additional membership pass for a caregiver (a grandparent or nanny, for example) who may bring your children (ages 17 and younger) to Space Center Houston.

According to IRS regulations, the amount paid for Space Center Houston membership is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, minus the fair market value of benefits for which you are eligible. The following amounts are deductible based on benefits at each membership level.

I just became a Space Center member

Your membership cards, welcome materials and guest passes (if applicable) will arrive within approximately two to three weeks of membership enrollment. Your membership confirmation email provides you with immediate admission. If it’s been more than three weeks since your contribution and you haven’t received your membership cards, please contact us at membership@spacecenter.org and include your current address and phone number.
Your guest passes and welcome materials will arrive with your membership cards about two to three weeks after your membership purchase. If you become a member in person at Space Center Houston or online, guest passes are not available that same day.
Yes, if you just joined (within the last two weeks) and wish to change the name(s) on your card, please contact the Membership Office at +1 281-244-2105 (10 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays-Fridays) or membership@spacecenter.org to have your membership cards reissued with the new name(s).
Your membership is valid for one year from the month you purchased it. For example, if you purchased your membership on any day in October, your membership expires one year later on Oct. 31. You can always email us at membership@spacecenter.org or call +1 281-244-2105 (10 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays-Fridays) to inquire about your expiration date.

I’d like to manage my membership

Memberships may be upgraded at any time by paying the difference between the current level and the higher level. These level upgrades do not change the expiration date. Members who wish to upgrade within two months of expiration may also choose to simply renew at the higher level. Please visit us at Space Center Houston or call +1 281-244-2105 to complete a membership upgrade.
If you have joined within the last two weeks and need to make changes to the name(s) on your card, please contact the Membership Office at +1 281-244-2105 or membership@spacecenter.org to have your membership cards reissued.
Email us at membership@spacecenter.org and we will be happy to replace your membership card. There is a $10 fee for replacement of each membership card.
Yes, please stop by the Guest Services Desk. A Crew Member will look up your member information when you present your photo ID and issue a temporary membership card for the day. However, there is no way to look up your membership at the parking booth, so without your card you will have to pay for parking.

I have questions about member benefits

Anyone can be a member. Membership is not restricted to heads of household or people in the same household. We only ask that the primary member of the membership be 18 years or older.
Beginning at the $185 Friends & Family level, members receive guest passes to share with friends and family. In addition, membership allows free admission for a specified number of people each day, depending on membership level. Both membership admissions and guest passes can be used for free admission during public hours and the number per level is summarized below. Guest passes are not eligible for replacement if lost or stolen.

Note: Unless your guest is using a guest pass, at least one named cardholding member on record with Space Center Houston needs to be present to take advantage of daily membership admissions.
Guest passes distributed with your membership cards may be used during all public hours. Guest passes are not valid during members-only previews for special exhibitions or Monthly Member Mornings when members gain admission before public hours. Guest passes are not replaced if lost or stolen.

Space Center Houston offers the following Smithsonian Affiliate benefits at the Discovery Circle levels of membership:
  • A personalized Smithsonian Affiliate membership card
  • A seven-issue annual subscription to Smithsonian Air & Space Magazine
  • 10 percent discount on Smithsonian Folkways Recordings
  • 10 percent discount on IMAX and planetarium tickets at the Smithsonian
  • Online benefits from the Smithsonian here
  • Member discount on The Great Courses.
However, Space Center Houston does not participate in Smithsonian’s reciprocal membership program and Space Center Houston membership does not provide free admission to all Smithsonian Affiliate institutions. Admission to most Smithsonian Institution museums is free, and some Smithsonian Affiliates also offer free admission to the general public.
