More than 600 stellar supporters came together March 31 to celebrate Space Center Houston’s 25th anniversary at the second biennial Galaxy Gala. The evening was led by commanders Keith and Alice Mosing and Kim and Dan Tutcher and honored longtime supporters Susie and Pat Cunningham for their significant contributions to the center.
The event raised $850,000 for the STEM education programs of the Manned Space Flight Education Foundation.
The program included a dazzling array of space artifacts from Space Center Houston and NASA Johnson Space Center, a live spacesuit fashion showcase and dancing to the music of the Lt. Dan Band led by “Apollo 13” actor Gary Sinise.
Space Center Houston, a project of the nonprofit Manned Space Flight Education Foundation, remains deeply committed to providing visitors from around the globe with an accessible gateway to the wonders of space exploration. Thanks to our supporters and donors, we are able to offer educational programs and exhibits that open the doors of inquiry and discovery through space science. Our programs encourage today’s youth to follow career paths in science, technology engineering and math (STEM).
We are deeply grateful for the support of our Galaxy Gala donors and appreciate their generosity in helping support Space Center Houston’s youth STEM education programs. The funds raised at the Galaxy Gala will help underserved children throughout the greater Houston area to have better access to Space Center Houston’s award-winning, high-quality STEM education programs.
