This February, Space Center Houston will host its Spring Home School Day. Held Feb. 19, this incredible event provides the opportunity for home-schooled families to learn about space exploration and engage in an unforgettable day of education and inspiring activities.
In addition to a Stars & STEM experience and a special Lunch with an Astronaut opportunity, this season’s Home School Day offers parental workshops. Did you know between 1969 and 1972 six Apollo missions brought back 382 kilograms (842 pounds) of lunar rocks, core samples, pebbles, sand and dust from the lunar surface to study? Research of rock and soil samples from the Moon continues to yield useful information about the early history of the Moon, the Earth and the inner solar system. Investigate the geology of the Moon in comparison to Earth and Mars in our Apollo-themed workshop for home-school parents and educators. This workshop is included in admission on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bring your questions to our Ask an Expert table! Whether you are a new or seasoned home educator, our science and education experts can assist you in accessing and utilizing NASA resources that will bring space and science alive for you and your children.
Tickets are $14.95 until the day of the event. Get your tickets now and save on this amazing experience for all informal educators!
