“Campers will work real-world challenges, build robots and be among ‘The Real Thing’ here at Space Center Houston,” said Daniel Newmyer, vice president of education for the nonprofit. “Youth will experience the history and the future of human space exploration with hands-on exhibits ranging from actual flown spacecraft to a spacesuit that has moon dust on it.”

Eight different camps are offered for children ranging from ages 5-11.

Younger campers will experience hands-on activities and an introduction to science and space exploration in a fun and engaging way. Cutting-edge robotics platforms such as littleBits, Sphero® and Ozobots will be used to hone campers’ coding and engineering skills, all while learning about the challenges of space exploration. LEGO® robotics platforms will be used for high-impact robotics challenges to develop real-world solutions.

It’s a four-day immersive experience with tours of the center’s exhibits including the blockbuster “Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission,” the one-of-a-kind Independence Plaza and an opportunity to go behind-the-scenes at NASA Johnson Space Center.

Campers will learn about pioneers such as astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, the first humans to step on the moon, while standing next to the Apollo 11 command module that carried these two astronauts on that historic mission.

Camp prices range between $184.95 and $279.95. Space is limited so register today before camps fill up by visiting or call +1 281-283-4755.
