Media Day: Tuesday, April 17

Space Center Houston hosts Above and Beyond, presented by Boeing and made possible locally by Coca-Cola, April 21-Sept. 9, 2018.

Media are invited to design and test a supersonic fighter jet in a virtual high-speed flying competition, perform a flying simulation with motion-sensing technology and use augmented reality to explore the physical and psychological challenges of the journey to Mars. Interview Space Center Houston experts and hear first-hand about Boeing’s advances in aviation and aerospace – all during Space Center Houston’s Media Day for the new summer exhibit Above and Beyond.

Above and Beyond promotes STEM-based learning. It inspires future generations to pursue careers in aerospace and creates the opportunity to discover the immense impact global aerospace innovations have on the world, from the earliest powered flights to the future of space exploration.

Above and Beyond is produced by Evergreen Exhibitions in association with Boeing, in collaboration with NASA and the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.

The exhibit kicks-off the nonprofit’s summer of elevation. Guests will become a part of the future of flight and pilot their own mission in the immersive aerospace experience Above and Beyond. Experience all that Space Center Houston has to offer with more than 400 things to see and do. Stand close to flown spacecraft, touch a piece of the moon and Mars and walk inside the historic shuttle carrier aircraft NASA 905 and the shuttle replica Independence. Premier experiences await with Lunch with an Astronaut, the ultimate VIP Level 9 Tour and private tram tours for groups.

Tickets are available online at or at the door. Prices range from $24.95 for children to $29.95 for adults with discounts for seniors and members of the military. Become a member and come back free as often as you like for one year, plus get free parking after the first visit.
