Do teachers and parents need to pay?
Yes, all students, teachers, and chaperones must pay before entering the building. Each paid adult and child will receive an admission ticket for the evening and a ticket for the second day for the following morning. Bus drivers may obtain an event ticket at the adult rate or a Day Two ticket (valid only the second day of visit) for $12.95.

What forms of payments are accepted?
Space Center Houston accepts school/district checks, credit cards and cash (large bills please). We do not accept personal checks or purchase orders. Please do not mail cash.

When is the deposit due?
We no longer require a deposit due but a credit card is required to hold the reservation.

When is the final payment due?
The entire payment and number of participants are due 6 weeks before your Space After Dark visit. SCH reserves the right to cancel any reservation if a final payment and signed contract are not received within six weeks prior to visit.

Do you accept pay on arrival?
Unfortunately, we do not accept pay on arrivals. All payments need to be made before your groups arrival to ensure that each person has a ticket.

Can I get a refund for students unable to attend?
No refunds will be issued after 6 weeks prior to your visit. Hotel rooms, food, staff and materials are determined based on the number of participants given 6 weeks before your Space After Dark visit. For this reason, refunding partial or full payment is not possible.

Can I add additional students and chaperones once I have sent in my final payment?
Yes! Additional participants may be added if there is availability. Additional hotel rooms will be the responsibility of the group if additional participants are added within six weeks of the Overnight Visit.

How long does the second day “tour” take?
The Tram Tour, which takes you over to NASA, takes between 60 and 90 minutes to complete. Time spent inside Space Center Houston depends on whether your group views any giant screen films, live shows, and/or takes tram tour. Usually 3-5 hours is sufficient, however, we invite you to stay as long as you like!

Can we eat “sack lunches” inside Space Center Houston?
Outside food is not allowed inside the center. We do have a picnic area that can be used for eating your lunches. If you choose to bring sack lunches, they should stay on your busses until it’s time to eat.

Will my group have a tour guide?
The evening of your event will be guided. The tram tour is the only part of your second day that will be guided. Touring inside the center is completely self-guided. Please use the “Things to See and Do” section of this briefing to plan your day.

Can I make reservations for a specific tram time?
All Overnight groups will experience the Tram Tour on the second day visit at 9 am. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.

What does the “Chicken Strip Dinner” consist of?
Large all white meat chicken tenders tossed in our special batter and fried golden brown and delicious, sitting aside hot, crispy fries. Don’t forget your fruit cup or banana pudding! If our meal does not meet your dietary needs, you are welcome to bring in something that does.

Do I need to make hotel arrangements?
All hotel rooms including breakfast or any other special accommodations made after the 6-week deadline must be arranged by the school directly with the hotel.

Is the Neutral Buoyancy Lab located at Space Center Houston?
The Neutral Buoyancy Lab is not located at Space Center Houston. You will be responsible for providing transportation to and from the NBL. After your tour is set up and you have a confirmed time, meet your tour guide at the Information Desk at Space Center Houston no later than 15 minutes before your tour begins to allow for travel time.

Do you provide breakfast for our group?
We do not provide breakfast. You may contact your hotel to determine if breakfast is served.

When and where can I redeem my meal tickets?
Meal tickets need to be redeemed at the Launch Foods counter before 3pm in the Zero-G Diner.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of people that can attend the Overnight Program?
The maximum number of people that can attend an Overnight is 250 people. If there is not already a group booked on a date that you are interested in, there is a minimum of 20 people required to open the event.
