Free Spirit

In May of 2009, the Mars Rover "Spirit" became trapped in a sand pit. The scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory are working on freeing the rovers wheel. The Mars rovers were expected to last for 90 days on the surface of Mars. They just recently passed their 5 year anniversary.
