Teacher Programs

On July 7, we will blast off with a day full of great educational experiences! Each educator will leave this workshop with new curriculum, lunar sample certification, 6 hours of continuing education credit and an appreciation for our moon and beyond.
- Cost includes lunch at Space Center Houston
- Attend four classes that will take you to the far reaches of our solar system
- Voyage Solar System model and Starlab Planetarium
- Tour the solar system with our state of the art Voyage Solar System model and travel virtually in our Starlab Planetarium. Each teacher will receive "Journey Through the Solar System" curriculum that was written by the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education.
- Space Suits through the Generations
- You will get a look at the past, and a peek towards the future. Spacesuits have come a long way since the Mercury program. Come and join JSC as they talk about the history of the spacesuit, its transformations, and the resources available to help you.
- Lunar Sample Certification
- Experience the history of the Moon and learn about its geology. You will become certified to borrow lunar and meteorite samples. Moon Educator Guide is provided.
- Saturn V Experience
- Visit Rocket Park and see a full size Saturn V rocket. Learn about the Apollo missions and how they changed the world as we know it. Each teacher will receive the NASA Rocket Guide this is filled with ideas on how to use rockets in the classroom.
- You will be certified to check out lunar samples from Johnson Space Center
- Have the opportunity to visit the rest of Space Center Houston at the conclusion of the workshop
Due to the popularity of this once in a lifetime workshop, cancellations or no-shows after June 15th will be charged the full registration fee. However, registration may be transferred to a fellow colleague.
