This conference is for Grades K-12 – and not just for science teachers! Space Center Houston strives to use space to teach across the curriculum. The activities presented can be used for science, language arts, mathematics, history, and more!
Space Center Houston is proud to continue offering the educational opportunity of a lifetime! Experience three days of complete submersion into the out-of-this world adventure of space exploration! Attend sessions hosted by the actual scientists and engineers working on these exciting endeavors including the International Space Station, Mars exploration, and the planets beyond. Hear from the astronauts leading the charge in exploration! Come learn about the bold vision to send humans back to the Moon and off to Mars! Attend sessions presented by educators and receive ready to implement classroom ideas and experience minds-on, hands-on fun! Network with fellow educators, take back a multitude of cross curriculum ideas and activities and earn 24 hours of Continuing Professional Education credit.
Reminders
- Close toed shoes must be worn on all tours!
- Each Participant will be receiving a Red 2010 SEEC shirt in honor of Heart Healthy month. We ask that all of our attendees wear theirs on Friday February 5th in support of Wear Red for Heart Health day.
- Friday Key Note Address by Sally K Ride (Ph. D) starts at 8:00 AM; doors will shut at 8:15 AM those who come late will be able to watch in our overflow room.
- Please remain in the theater after the Presentation to take a SEEC 2010 group heart healthy shot with our sponsors at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center!

The conference fee includes three days (Feb. 4-6) of sessions and keynotes. Breakfast, lunch and the "Taste of Space" meet and greet Reception is included on Thursday. Breakfast, lunch and a Banquet dinner is included on Friday. Breakfast and lunch is included on Saturday. Bus transportation to and from conference hotels to Space Center Houston is also included.

What's New and exciting this year at SEEC?

This year, Sally Ride Science will be a conference partner at the 2010 Space Exploration Educators Conference. Sally K. Ride, Ph.D will speak as our Friday Key Note at 8:00am, where afterwards she will be available to sign her books which will be available for purchase in the gift shop. Dr. Ride, a former NASA Astronaut and the first American woman in space, is dedicated to the education of young boys and girls in the fields of math, science and technology. Her passion for education will fit seamlessly into our sessions and educator enthusiasms for SEEC 2010.
New Reception Experience
Back by popular demand – "Taste of Space" Epicurean Evening! You are invited once more to SEEC's new Reception experience. The event will take place at Space Center Houston following the Key Note from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in place of the usual conference reception. A special meet and greet area will be reserved for SEEC attendees only. Attendance is not mandatory but encouraged.
This event is a cultural experience showcasing the Clear Lake Area's finest restaurants, food and beverages. All of your food and alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages are included in the $279 conference registration fee. There is no need to purchase a ticket for the event if you are registered as a conference presenter or attendee. If you would like to purchase an additional ticket for a guest, the cost is $30.
The reception, "A Taste of Space" is casual attire. Bus transportation will be provided to and from conference hotels beginning at 6:30pm and ending at 9:30pm.
SEEC Banquet Experience
The capstone for the conference is the infamous SEEC banquet, where teachers are treated to a fabulous meal prepared by our award winning in-house caterer and, 2 free cocktails and/or drinks. All additional alcoholic beverages will be $5.00 each.
Andy and the Dreamsicles will move your feet and your hearts as they rock into the early morning hours. The banquet attire is business formal. Join us this year as we celebrate old and new friends, a rich history of space exploration and your role in educating the space explorers of tomorrow.
There is no need to purchase a ticket for the event if you are registered as a conference presenter or attendee. If you would like to purchase an additional ticket for a guest, the cost is $40.

SEEC SCHEDULE
Space Center Houston is listening! This year, we have modified the schedule to insure longer time in between break-out sessions. This will help the flow of traffic and bus transportation to and from NASA tours and the Gilruth. We have also made Thursday, February 4th a full day so we may end early on Saturday, February 6th. This should be of assistance to those who need to travel Saturday afternoon.

Conference Shirts
There are a limited number of Red Polo Shirts for sale. Please fill out the online form (including your credit card information) and fax it to Space Center Houston on or before February 2nd.

Shirts will also be available during the conference on a first come first serve basis.

SEEC Scholarships
The Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation is providing registration scholarships to the Space Exploration Educators Conference. The scholarships are for new registrations only. Scholarships are awarded on a first come first served basis. Applicants will be notified of whether their application has been accepted within one week of receipt of the letter.
To apply for a scholarship, please fill out the SEEC Scholarship Application and fax it with the conference registration form to 281-283-7724.

Cherri Brinley Space Educator Award
Space Center Houston would like to announce the second annual Cherri Brinley Space Science Educator Award. Cherri, a fourteen year SEEC veteran, shared her passion for Space Science and inspired so many educators and students around the nation. In memory of Cherri, please nominate a deserving educator who will be in attendance at the 2010 conference. For details, please download the Nomination Guidelines.
