Space School
Mission:
Space Center Houston’s Space School is a weeklong adventure into Space Engineering for ages 12-14 & 15-18 year olds. Students will be engaged in a mission to Mars, creating and building a Robotic rover to obtain Martian rock samples, analyzing samples with a Reflectance Spectrometer, designing and launching a Rocket to return back to Earth, all while being challenged to maintain a budget.
During the week Guest Speakers from the Johnson Space Center will give students insights on what makes Space Exploration happen.
* Space School is a team based program and requires a group registration with a minimum of 20 students. Space School is not currently designed for individual students. General Information
Availability:
Space School is offered year round, Monday through Friday of a given week. Each day runs from 8:30am - 4:00pm and includes your choice of lunch food served in our Zero-G Diner. We schedule each individual Space School on a first come first serve basis, so register now.
Group Age and Size:
The size of a Space School team greatly determines the success of the individual team and the group as a whole. Students need to be between the ages of 15-18 years old. Groups need to have at least 20 students to allow for a good team ratio.
Materials:
Each student receives:
- A copy of the first color picture taken from the surface of Mars
- A book about NASA's Martian rovers
- Rover stickers
- Graduation Certificate
*The winning team receives Gold Medals as the top Space School Team.

Formal Graduation and Dinner after hours in our Saturn Club while overlooking Space Center Houston or in our Starship Gallery under the stars and among historic artifacts.
