Listed below are the possible demonstrations you could see at Space Center Houston. Join our Mad Scientists daily under the shuttle for the science behind space travel.

  • To Pop or Not To Pop!
    The vacuum of space is a hazardous place for unsuited humans. But if you're looking for an "ear popping", "blood boiling", can crushing good time; stop by to see live demonstrations that will put you in the heart of the action.
  • What's the Matter?
    Polymers, Nitinol, "Oobleck"; what do they have in common? They're all matter. Some are just stranger than others! Stop by the demonstration area and see just how amazing matter can be.
  • Hot or Not?
    Thousands of tiles made of silica fibers keep the orbiter's aluminum skin at 350° F or less at re-entry. Learn everything you ever wanted to know about the shuttle tiles and watch a "hot" demonstration. Plus more!
  • Keep Your Cool!
    Looking for a bone-chilling, spine-tingling good time? LN2 is your ticket to experiencing the wonders that a -320° F temperature can produce. Common objects will be put to the test of the extreme temperatures of space!
