College Space Walk
A science experience that inspires writing
This event is offered only to Community College and University students! Want to get your students writing? Well give them some Space! This limited engagement event is designed to get your students writing in several formats by using their experiences at Space Center Houston.
Students will rotate through a variety of engaging activities that will challenge them to put pen to paper. Every student will walk away with three writing examples, which include:
- Narrative - your students will discover how astronauts live on the space station then develop their own narrative using the information they gained.
- Poetry - history can be inspiring. Your students will observe a reenactment of Kennedy's famous "We choose to go to the Moon" speech then write free form poetry.
- Persuasive - did we really go to the moon? You will find out then decide if you agree with our experts.
Once all students have completed the stations they will all receive a chance to share their writing with their peers in our open mic coffee house.
March 30th is a special after hours only event. Once the doors close to the public, your students will have the center to themselves and it will become your very own classroom.
On April 1st you and your students receive early admission into our facility for an exciting day of once in a lifetime opportunities!
Want to join us?
- Students and chaperones will receive a discounted admission of $9.95/person with minimum order of 15 tickets if ordered and paid for one week in advance.
- Reservations made less than one week in advance can still get a discounted admission of $11.95/person with a minimum order of 15 tickets.
- All groups will get one FREE ticket for each complete set of 15 tickets purchased.
