Hands-On activities:

Grades 2-5:
Solve Problems like a NASA engineer! Rediscover our Space Program and have a chance to touch a real Moon Rock by exploring the Starship Gallery in a Scavenger Hunt. Students will apply Newton’s Laws of Motion by protecting an eggastronaut as well as launching an air rocket to surprising heights.

Grades 6-8:
Explore the World of Robots and Rockets! Learning about the uses of robotics in the space program, students will design and test a team built robotic arm. Students will also learn the aerodynamic principles of rocketry by playing a round of rocket golf and design a new Crew Vehicle that will take us to the Moon and to planets beyond!

Grades 9-12:
Students will dive head first into the world of NASA engineers! Students will discover the challenges of working within a budget, just like real engineers. Communication and team work are stressed as students construct a working robotic rover which will be used to accomplish a mission on the Lunar Surface as well as a lofting exercise.

Audio Guides from Space Center Houston. Take a walk though time with some of the history-makers in the U.S. space program who will guide you via audio headsets through exhibits including the Starship Gallery, the Space Shuttle Mockup and the Astronaut Gallery. $5 per person.
