Educational Programs at Your Library

Can't make it to Space Center Houston?
Let us bring "intelligent fun" to you!!

Library visits are a exciting and affordable way to bring science to the kids in your community. We offer four different live presentations for groups up to 50 students.

Presentations are informative sessions for children ages 4-15 presented by a Space Center Houston Space Science Instructor! Participants will enjoy these age appropriate sessions that bring the excitement of Space Center Houston to your library! As you prepare your upcoming schedule don't forget to give the kids in your community an out of this world experience!

 

Programs

Suiting Up (Recommended for ages 4-15)
Discuss why astronauts need spacesuits while space walking. Learn the different parts of the spacesuit and the assembly sequence. This session lasts 45 minutes.

Living in Space (Recommended for ages 4-7)
From wake-up to bed time, discover what astronauts do onboard the Space Shuttle and International Space Station.

We Have Lift Off (Recommended for ages 8-15)
Explore the history of rockets, find out how they work and what it takes to get into space. Students will build and launch their own paper rockets. This session lasts 45-60 minutes and is recommended for groups no larger than 40.
